Specifikationer og godkendelser for motorolie

1) Forklaring til specifikationer af motorolie.

A3/B3
(gasolin & diesel)

Category for high performance and Fuel-Economy engine oils. Exceeds ACEA A1/B1 with regard to Noack evaporation losses, piston cleanliness and oxidation stability. Extended drain intervals possible.

ACEA A3/B4
(gasolin & diesel)

As A3/B3 but also for diesel directinjection

ACEA A5/B5
(gasolin & diesel)

Category for high performance engine oils. For diesel direct injection and Fuel-Economy performance. Furthermore with lower HTHS viscosity (2.9 to 3.5 mPas). Extended drain intervals possible

ACEA C1
(diesel, low SAPS/ash)

Largely based on the ACEA A5/B5. Strict limitation of SAPS content. Low HTHS viscosity of >2.9 mPas

ACEA C2
(diesel, low SAPS/ash)

Same as C1 but with somewhat higher SAPS content permissible. (as with C3).

ACEA C3
(diesel, low SAPS/ash)
Same as C2 except for HTHS > 3.5 and without Fuel-Economy performance
ACEA E3/B3

Largely based on Mercedes Benz Sheet 228.3. Mack T8 test is also required.

ACEA E7

Super High Performance Diesel (SHPD) engine oils for commercial diesels which operate in very difficult conditions.

API CH-4 (diesel)

Introduced in 1998 for commercial vehicles with high-speed four-stroke engines fulfilling US 1998 emission standards. Suitable for diesel fuel sulphur levels of up to 0.5 % wt.

API SL (gasolin) Supersedes API SJ.
API SJ(gasolin)

Supersedes API SH. Greater demands regarding evaporation losses. Valid since 10/96.

API SH(gasolin)

Specification for engines oils built after 1993. API SH must be tested according to the CMA’s Code of Practice. API SH largely corresponds to API SG with additional demands regarding HTHS, evaporation losses (ASTM and Noack tests), filterability, foaming and flash point. Furthermore, API SH corresponds to ILSAC GF-1 without the Fuel Economy test but with the difference that 15W-X multigrade oils are also permissible.

API SN(gasolin)

In preparation. New API engine oil category for vehicles with gasoline engines, exceeds API SM

API SM (gasolin)

Latest API classification. Valid since 10/2004. Greater demands include: ILSAC GF-4, lower SAPS (= sulphate ash-phosphorous-sulphur) content, EC Energy Conserving and ESP (Emissions System Protection).

API CF (diesel)

Introduced for highly turbocharged diesel engines in 1994. High ash content. Suitable for sulphur contents over 0.5 % wt.

API CG-4 (diesel)

Introduced in 1995 for heavy-duty truck engines. Complies with EPA’s 1994 emission thresholds.

GLOBAL DHD-1

Comparable with API CH-4, for heavy trucks. Also suitable for diesel fuels with high sulphur contents.
